New speculation on the F1 future of Carlos Sainz
New market rumors about the future of Carlos Sainz, the Spanish Ferrari driver who will leave his place to Lewis Hamilton in 2025.
According to German media outlet F1-Insider, the Ferrari driver has reportedly accepted the offer from Williams for next season. Williams has reportedly basically accepted Sainz's demands in terms of salary, competitiveness (guaranteed by the Mercedes power unit) and especially future prospects.
In fact, Sainz would have obtained the inclusion of a clause that would allow him to get out of the agreement in case of a call from Red Bull or Mercedes.
In particular, given the close relationship between Williams management and Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, Sainz could have a fast track to Brackley should the Austrian manager decide to wait to put young Italian driver Kimi Antonelli in the car.
