Kalinskaya gives up on Washington

A painful renunciation also for Anna Kalinskaya, girlfriend of Jannik Sinner. The Russian has è called herself out of participation in the Washington tournament, to which she had duly registered in preference to the possibility of playing in the Olympics.

"I am sorry to miss the tournament this year. Unfortunately, I have not yet recovered from my injury and hope to see you all again soon" she wrote on her own social media.

At Wimbledon, Kalinskaya had tearfully withdrawn during the quarterfinals against Elena Rybakina: she has been undergoing physiotherapy but the wrist problem has evidently not resolved.

There is a lot of talk these days about the tennis player in connection with Jannik Sinner having withdrawn from the Olympics due to tonsillitis.
