Simona Quadarella commented very disappointed about her fourth place in the 1500 freestyle at the Paris 2024 Olympics. L'Azzurra was really counting on a medal after being among the best in the world for years: "I struggled so much, a very tiring race. For me è a huge disappointment, I am honest. The time è good, but I was so tired and by the end my legs were bursting".
Simona fears that she missed her big chance: "I am sorry, there's been a battle against two athletes that in the last races I had always beaten. I felt pretty good and maybe for that I am very sorry".
On the causes of her performance: "There'was maybe too much tension. I experienced it as the most important competition of my life, because I don't know how I'll get to the next Olympics. It was my last cartridge and itè went like this. It was not what I wanted. Now let’s see the 800, but I don’t feel like the 1500".
