Luca Rambaldi, Andrea Panizza, Luca Chiumento and rowing leader Giacomo Gentili infact won the silver medal behind the superfavorite Netherlands. È the 12th of the Italian expedition to Paris, 3 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze.
5’44”40 was the time of the Azzurri, detached by 2”40 from the Dutch. Our crew burned by only 19 cents Poland, which had to settle for the bronze medal. Fourth was Great Britain at 4”51 from the Netherlands, fifth was Germany, and sixth was Switzerland.
For Italy è the 42nd Olympic medal in rowing, the 15th silver, the fifth in this race, in which Italian boats have collected two golds, two silvers and a bronze.
