For the son of Pace Mannion, therefore, continues the adventure in the Italian league that began in August 2021, when Virtus Bologna decided to bet on the Italian-American player (who chose the Italian national team) on the strength of his experience in Golden State and the G-League affiliate club, the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Since then, Nico Mannion has left Italy only in the summer of 2023, to play the NBA Summer League with the Milwaukee Bucks, and in the first part of the 2023/24 season, after signing with Saski Baskonia. With Varese, Mannion won the Serie A salvation, often signaling himself among the best scorers in the red and white.
