Carlos Alcaraz è already certain to wear a medal

The first career participation in the Olympic Games è already the good one for Carlos Alcaraz, who in the first semifinal of the men’s singles Five Circles at Paris 2024 scrambled the hapless Felix Auger-Aliassime with a double 6-1, at the end of a match that lasted just 76 minutes on the clay that normally hosts Roland Garros.

That of the Murcian è a very clear message towards the other two contenders for the gold medal, Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti, next to face each other in the other semifinal: to win the maximum Olympic laurel, whoever gets through the round will have to deal with an Alcaraz in great shape.

Very little to be said about the match: Auger-Aliassime even starts well, winning the first game on his own serve, then allows himself to be overwhelmed by hurricane Alcaraz, who makes his own, between the first and second sets, as many as seven consecutive games before the Canadian manages to win another game, for the provisional 1-1 in the second fraction.

Alcaraz però immediately picked up the pace and with five more consecutive games won he won a place in the final for the gold medal, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 4. On Saturday, 3, there will be the final for the bronze medal instead, with Auger-Aliassime facing whoever emerges defeated at the end of the match between Djokovic and Musetti.
