The Italian pair Ranghieri-Carambula è was defeated 0-2 (15-21, 21-23) by Chileans Grimalt-Grimalt, a very heavy knockout that condemns Alex and Adrian to leave the Paris Olympic tournament. ù

Weighing in, in fact, è the worse total points quotient compared to Chileans Grimalt-Grimalt and, in case of defeat tonight of the Dutchmen Vvan de Velde/Immers, also the one between the three pairs that would finish paired. 

In today’s match Alex and Adrian struggled a lot in the first set (9-12) and always suffered the play of the Chileans (12-18), having to give in (15-21).

Different was the trend in the second set, Daniele Di Stefano's boys rose in level and for long stages held their opponents (12-13). The tricolor pair in the final è even managed to take the lead (20-19) and twice had the opportunity to take the match to the tie-break. The Chileans, however, saved themselves on both occasions and at the first attempt closed the match (21-23).
