Vanoli Cremona, here is Tariq Owens

Vanoli Cremona announced on Saturday the signing for the next season of Tariq Owens, a 206 cm center born on June 30, 1995, who has already been in Italy for two years: he arrived in 2022 in Varese, then played the following year in Naples, establishing himself as one of the most interesting centers in the league.

"I am thrilled to be part of the Vanoli Family and I can’t wait to get to Cremona,” Owens told the official channels of the biancobl&ugrave club. “I’ve heard good things about the city and the people; I’m ready to work with the coach and give it my all in front of our fans,” he then promised.

Owens è grew up, at the college level, between Tennessee, St. John's and Texas Tech, ending his college experience with the Red Raiders. Undrafted in 2019, he tried to get noticed by the NBA by starting in the G-League, with the Phoenix Suns’ affiliate (the North Arizona Suns, now the Motor City Cruise). He also played three first-team NBA games in 2020.

After a stint with the Long Island Nets, he then decided to make the leap of the Atlantic Ocean, choosing Italy: in Varese, in his first year, he achieved salvation, while in Naples, the second he only came close to making the playoffs, taking, however, the satisfaction of playing and winning the Final Eight of the Italian Cup.
