Luca Marini, new mockery: lost the point at Silverstone
After a little satisfaction, comes yet another mockery.
Luca Marini continues his Honda adventure with great difficulty, in his first season for the Japanese manufacturer’s factory team. His 2024 in MotoGP continues to be haunted, with Valentino Rossi’s brother at the bottom of the rainbow standings. However, at Silverstone, in the British Grand Prix, a little point had come thanks to his second 15° place in a row. Meanwhile, però, è faded that too.
In fact, Silverstone stewards found that Marini’s tire pressure was below the minimum allowed by Michelin. For this reason, his Honda suffered a penalty of 16 seconds, resulting in a relegation from 15° to 17° place in the ranking of the British Grand Prix. A placement that, as is well known, does not giveà right to valid points for the championship.
"The Steward Panel knows in real time what everyone’s tire pressure levels are,” Marini explained hot on the heels of the race. “If they summon you, you already know that you will be penalized. This però is not a problem, since we are not fighting for the championship. So the points we win make no difference to the work we are doing".
Marini relegates from 2 to 1 points in the current MotoGP standings, the result of the 15° place obtained at Sachsenring. For him, a bitter 23rd position in the world championship resists, while the other Honda riders (although detached from the championship leaders) are ahead of him. In fact, Johann Zarco, Joan Mir and Takaaki Nakagami occupy positions 18 to 20, respectively, with 14, 13 and 10 points to their credit.
