Marcell Jacobs, head to the 4×100
Despite a pain suffered in the hamstring of his left thigh at the end of the 100m final, Marcell Jacobs is already looking ahead to the 4×100 relay, scheduled for Friday, Aug. 9 at 7:45 p.m. "In the coming days I will focus on the 4×100 relay, where I will give; all my energy" he wrote on social.
According to Sky Sport reports, the Italian sprinter will undergo an ultrasound in the afternoon but, pending the report, he still confirmed his presence in the 4×100 in which he will run with Filippo Tortu and two among Lorenzo Patta, Lorenzo Simonelli, Chituru Ali, Fausto Desalu, Roberto Rigali and Matteo Melluzzo.
In the long post published on Instagram, Jacobs also analyzed his performance in the 100m final: "I wanted to prove once again that despite all the difficulties one may encounter in life, one must be able to fall and get back up every time. È that’s what I’ve always done. In last night’s final, I had a very good start, tried to push until the end. The others ran very hard and I gave it my all".
"This last year è was complex, I had to change everything: country, coach, training partners and much more. However, I always believed in this project. Achieving 9.85 è an important achievement. I am a little bitter because’ I felt that there’ was a chance to win a medal. Thanks to everyone for the support; Marcell Jacobs’ career does not end here. There are still many goals to achieve in the next four years" concluded the Italian sprinter.
