A medal of great weight, complete with a national record.

Nadia Battocletti believes in it. After great proof in the 5,000 meters at the Paris 2024 Olympics (and the controversial awarding of the bronze medal), the Italian aims to repeat herself and perhaps give Italy a new feat in athletics. At the same time, along with happiness for her effort, she is flying low after the medal she got for disqualifying Kenyan Faith Kipyegon for a push to Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay.

"For now I am thinking about fourth place, which would make me very happy anyway – explained Nadia Battocletti hot on Rai microphones -. It will be necessary to wait for appeals and counter appeals, for the moment I am proud of me for how è the race was and how I behaved". Her time of 14:31.64 represents the new national record in the discipline.

" I am very happy with how è it went today, becauseé I was able to put the injury behind me and my legs also started to turn. Now if I continue to feel soì well I also aim to participate in the 10,000 meters", added Battocletti. Her bronze in the 5,000 meters represents for now the first medal Italy has won in Paris in athletics.

Battocletti, who battled for the entire event with the best on the track, set her memorable run in the 5,000 meters on the same day that had greeted Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti's gold in the mixed skeet and the great feat in gymnastics, with Alice D'Amato’s resounding gold and Manila Esposito’s bronze in the beam.
