JP Macura at Nutribullet Treviso: è official

After rumors circulated in recent days, Nutribullet Treviso has sunk the blow for JP Macura, who will goà to complete the roster available to coach Frank Vitucci for the 2024/2025 season. The 1995-born outside forward has already gained experience in Italy with the Bertram Tortona jersey, confirming the good things he showed in the G-League and in Turkey. 

JP plays for his hometown high school, achieving averages of 32.2 points and 6.5 rebounds in his last season in a Lakeville North High School jersey. What brought Macura away from home è was the call of Xavier, a college in Cincinnati, Ohio, with whom he faces four seasons marked by a great path of growth in both numbers and percentages from the field, reaching 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists average in his senior year.

Declaring himself at the 2018 NBA Draft, JP signed a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets playing in the G-League with the Greensboro Swarm affiliate team, with which he averaged 16.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in just over 27 minutes per game and, later in the season, made his NBA debut with the Hornets of all places. The following year, Macura wore the jersey of the Canton Charge, a G-League team of the Cleveland Cavaliers, attesting to similar figures to his previous experience.

In the summer of 2020, he landed in Europe at Afyon Belediye in Turkey, where he finished with an average of 12.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists. The numbers gathered in the year in Turkey earned JP the call from Tortona. In his two seasons in Piedmont, he confirmed himself as one of the best scorers in the Italian league: in his 2021/2022 debut, he recorded 13.8 points with 64% from two, 33.9% from three and 84.4% from the free in the 28 regular season games; in 2022/23, in 27 regular season games, he collects 13 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists on average, adding 1.2 rebounds per shoelace with averages of 50.4% inside the area, 33.1% from beyond the arc and 85.2% from the line. In both seasons Macura turns out to be instrumental in Bertram’s playoff qualification, with two semifinal appearances, further elevating his level of play. With the bianconeri he also played in the 2022 Italian Cup final. In his career Macura has also played with the U.S. national team jersey.
