Genoa, surprise bid from Serie A pops up for Mateo Retegui
Atalanta on Mateo Retegui
With just a few days to go before the start of the new Serie A season, Genoa, in addition to Albert Gudmundsson, could also say goodbye to Mateo Retegui. According to "Sky" reports, in fact, Atalanta has reportedly set its sights on the Italian center forward to replace Gianluca Scamacca, who suffered a ruptured ACL and will have to stay in the pits for a long time.
The Bergamasque club, in addition, has reportedly already submitted an official first offer of around 20 million euros to buy the player. The Rossoblù for their part, have reportedly opened up to the sale of the Italo-Argentine striker, but have set the price of the card at around 25 million euros.
In the coming days there should be new contacts between the parties to try to find an economic understanding with Retegui's entourage, narrow the gap between supply and demand and arrive at the final white smoke.
As for Albert Gudmundsson, negotiations would now be at an advanced stage with Fiorentina reportedly putting on the table an onerous €7 million loan with a redemption set at €18 million. The Icelandic player would have already given his ok to the transfer to Tuscany and in the coming days this operation could also be definitively unblocked.
