After three wins and a draw, comes the first defeat

Inter returns from Monza with its first defeat in this preseason. After three wins and a draw, Inzaghi's team was defeated, at the U-Power Stadium, by Al-Ittihad (2-0 the final). Diaby’s double, netting on 25’ and 47’ was decisive.

Inter coach Inzaghi, still unable to count on Lautaro Martinez (just returned from vacation) and new striker Taremi (injured), relies on Correa and Thuram. The former, given for sure to leave, does not affect, devouring a sensational goal, while the latter still seems far from the best condition. Result? Inter beats in attack, so much so that it is rather predictable.

Rather slow rhythms from the early stages of the game. The Nerazzurri are more proactive and come close to scoring with Correa who, in front of Rajkovic, wastes badly. On the first offensive sortie, Al-Ittihad found the lead with Diaby, masterfully served by former Roma player Aouar. Benzema also made his mark, who, on a counterattack, came close to doubling the score.

In the second half, came immediately the 2-0 signed again by Diaby (on a short rebound of a lackluster Sommer). Inter tried to recover the disadvantage but, despite the inevitable changes, the result did not change anymore. On Sunday, Inter will challenge Chelsea in the last friendly test before the start of the new season. It will need a different approach and more determination to avoid another defeat.
