In a video posted on his social channels, 41-year-old Portuguese Pepe announced his farewell to played soccer.

"I would like to thank everyone", said the Lusitanian footballer in a video listing the clubs where he è been, mentioning of course his national team or family.

"Everyone has given me the support I needed to leave with a clear conscience", said the central defender who è took leave after participating in Euro 2024 and after the end of his contract with Porto.

Born in Brazil and coming to Portugal when he was 18, Képler Laveran Lima Ferreira his real name, began his career at Madeira’s Maritimo.

After his first stint at Porto (2004-2007), he spent ten years at Real Madrid. After a season and a half with Turkish side Besiktas, è returned to Porto in January 2019.
