Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti, after their triumph in Tokyo 2020, were reconfirmed as Olympic champions in the mixed Nacra 17 also at the Paris 2024 Olympics. At the microphones of "Rai Sport", the two Italian sailors celebrated their victory, also analyzing in the round the path they took to get to this extraordinary result.

"Today compared to the days è was a normal regatta. Our work è was more about control and we did not have to make mistakes. Especially we did not have to make early start as è happened to the British. The fourth day of the regatta è was undoubtedly the most difficult moment of our adventure here in Paris, as we had to face critical conditions and an early start that made everything more complicated also from a mental point of view" these are the words of Caterina Banti.

"Today’s was not an easy regatta, becauseè the light wind conditioned our race. We managed to handle it calmly, without risking anything. We had to bring home a tactical regatta and so it was. At the beginning we were close to the Argentines, then we understood how to move and we finished in second position still having a very good margin. The British anticipated the start and unfortunately this è cost them the podium. It's a difficult situation to accept, becauseè we know how much effort and dedication they put in, but sport è also this" these, instead, are the words of Ruggero Tita.

"It’ was very complicated as often happens for an Olympic final. The conditions were difficult forò Ruggero and Caterina put in an exemplary conduct after a week without smears" commented the Technical Director Michele Marchesini.
