Second bronze in the space of a few minutes for Italy, which after Antonino Pizzolato also applauds Sofia Raffaeli who, in her first five-ring final, finished third in the all-around competition in rhythmic gymnastics.
The 20-year-old from Ancona, despite some flaws with the ribbon in the final rotation, scored 136.300 finishing behind Germany’s Darja Varfolomeev and Bulgaria’s Boryana Bul Kaleyn, gold with 142.850 points and silver with 140.600.
Italy has won a total of 40 medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, setting a new record for haul in a single edition of the Games. Ten gold medals, as many silver medals and 20 bronze medals as well.
