With only a few days to go before the start of the championship, Genoa is preparing to place a new strike in defense. According to a report by 'La Repubblica', in fact, the Ligurian club has closed the deal with Arsenal for Brooke Norton-Cuffy, a right-back class of 2004.

The young English footballer arrives in Rossoblù on an outright basis. The Grifone, in fact, will payà 2 million euros plusù 2 bonus into the coffers of the English club. In the negotiation è also included a percentage on future resale.

Norton-Cuffy will be in Genoa as early as Tuesday to undergo routine medical examinations and then sign the contract that will bind him to Genoa. Coach Gilardino hopes to have him available already for the Rossoblù s league debut, which will take place on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at Marassi against the Italian champions Inter Milan.

Norton-Cuffy played last season on loan at Milwall, an English second division club, in which he made 40 appearances, netting 2 goals and providing 4 assists.
