Chances and crossbars, but no goals: 0-0 draw between Cagliari and Roma
A draw not without regrets in the first away game of the year.
Roma forced into a draw in Cagliari, where a 0-0 came that moves Daniele De Rossi’s Giallorossi slowly up the standings. There is no shortage of regrets, starting with Dovbyk's crossbar and Pellegrini's disallowed goal, but accompanying them are some thrills: the woodwork also struck by the hosts with Marin. Capitolini, however, tied on points with Inter, Milan, Fiorentina and Bologna.
Heat dominated in Cagliari in the first half, and in the very first minutes the hosts were favored: dangerous Piccoli, Luvumbo and Wieteska, before Soulé began to light up. But Scuffet trembles mostly on a Luperto back pass, before from Svilar’s sides it is Marin and Piccoli who look for a lead that però does not come.
The resumption tells of a profoundly different game, starting with Soulé’s shot that calls Scuffet to great intervention and Zalewski who instead raises his aim too much. Finally Dovbyk also shows his qualities, but on his veil è again Scuffet says no to Pellegrini. On the other side, Piccoli and Marin tried instead.
From the hour of play, the changes begin and the game gets even more heated. Mancini comes close to taking the lead for Roma, then in three minutes two crossbars arrive: first Dovbyk and then Marin hit them. Seconds later Pellegrini deposits the ball into the net, but he was offside. De Rossi also sends in Dybala despite market rumors, but the last chances are signed Pavoletti and El Shaarawy. With the Giallorossi joining the list of bigs stopped on a draw in their league debut.
