Daniele Rugani goes to Ajax'Ajax

Long on Juventus’ list of departing players, Daniele Rugani has found an arrangement for the 2024/2025 season: the Bianconeri club has in fact reached an agreement with Ajax, which will be able to obtain the 1994-born player on a dry loan. According to reports from 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Rugani will undergo medical examinations on Monday, after which he will be able to make himself available to the Italian coach of the Lancers, Francesco Farioli.

Growing up in the youth ranks of Empoli and finally joining the Juventus squad in 2015, Rugani has played eight seasons in total in the Bianconeri, with only one interlude in 2020/2021 in which he è been sent on loan first to Rennes, France, and then to Cagliari.

Rugani will be the second Italian player to wear the jersey of Ajax, one of the most representative clubs in Dutch soccer, winner of 4 Champions Cups/UEFA Champions League, 1 Cup Winners Cup, 1 UEFA Cup/Europa League, 2 European Super Cups and 2 Intercontinental Cups: the first was Lorenzo Lucca, who wore the jersey of the Lancers in 2022/2023 before moving to Udinese.

According to the agreement between Juventus and Ajax, Rugani will return to base at the end of the season: his contract, extended only a few months ago earlier, will expire in 2026.
