Kicking off on Sky and streaming on NOW the show of’America’s Cup. From August 22, Italy will once again fall in love with sailing, as it does for every date with the “flying boats”. Sky, for the’occasion, is preparing to guarantee exceptional coverage with about 180 live hours and an entirely dedicated channel from August 29, Sky Sport America’s Cup (205).

The most iconic of world sailing events, as well as the oldest trophy in the history of the sport, which dates back to 1851 and celebrates its 37th edition this year, will take place in the waters of Barcelona. Guido Meda will be, once again, the voice of’America’s Cup, joined by Giovanni Bruno in the storytelling and by the technical voices of Gabriele “Ganga” Bruni -sailor with two participations in’America’s Cup and coach of the Italian Olympic team, in particular of the Tita-Banti duo, Olympic gold medalists 2020 and 2024; è brother of Francesco “Checco” Bruni, helmsman of Luna Rossa – Flavia Tartaglini, windsurfing sailor, at the Rio Olympics in 2016 and instructor for the Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Gialle.

On Sky and streaming on NOW it will be possible to follow live all the races of the competition with pre and post studios (which on race days will be two, on channel 205 and often simulcast on Sky Sport 24: at 1.30, to launch the 2 p.m. regatta session, and at the end of the regatta, around 5 p.m.), a correspondent – Francesca Zambon for the first part of the event, until September, and Sandro Donato Grosso for the second – as well as in-depth specials. The Italian challenge, also for this edition, will be represented by Luna Rossa. The preliminary races will take place from August 22 to 25, with commentaries by Giovanni Bruno and Flavia Tartaglini. A week later, the real challenge of the Louis Vuitton Cup begins: the Round Robin will take place from August 29 to September 8, with semifinals from September 14 to 19 and the final from September 26 to October 5. Whoever wins the role of official challenger to Team New Zealand will take part in the America’s Cup final, Oct. 12 to 21. There will be no shortage of races for the Women’s America’s Cup (Sept. 10-26) and the Youth’s America’s Cup (Sept. 29 – Oct. 13).

Sky Sport America’s Cup’will be enriched with programming dedicated to the history of the event, with re-presentations of the most iconic regattas from previous editions and a series of documentaries aimed at the great personalities of sailing. In particular, two new productions:

  • “Luna Nuova” , dedicated to Luna Rossa’s new adventure in America’s Cup, discovering all the protagonists of the team. First passage Thursday, Aug. 22, 1:30 p.m., on Sky Sport Uno and streaming on NOW.
  • “Wind & Win – Conoscere la vela” , four episodes to get closer to the world of sailing boats with the passion of Guido Meda and the expertise of Mauro Pelaschier (former skipper of Azzurra) aboard a Grand Soleil boat. The first two episodes on-air from August 29.

In addition, on Sky Sport 24, on skysport.it and on Sky Sport’s official social accounts, the story of’America’s Cup will never stop, with updates, links, highlights and interviews.
