Medical examinations for five new Virtus Bologna basketball players
Even for Virtus Bologna è it is time to turn on the engines in view of the 2024/2025 season: on Monday, five new players of the Black Vu’s played in Bologna the classic early season examinations, in the morning at the Private Clinic Villalba and in the afternoon at the Isokinetic FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.
The new faces undergoing the tests are Mouhamet Diouf (last season in Spain at Breogán), Nicola Akele (former Brescia), Will Clyburn (back from two seasons at Anadolu Efes), Matt Morgan (starring with the London Lions in the last Eurocup, in which he reached the semifinals) and Rayjon Tucker (last year at Reyer Venezia).
Virtus Bologna comes from a 2023/2024 in which it won the Italian Super Cup and the Serie A regular season, thoughé the path to the Scudetto did not go beyond participation in the final. In the Italian Cup the Black Vu's experienced the unexpected elimination in the quarterfinals against Reggio Emilia, while in the Euroleague the path of the Felsinei è ended in the play-in against Baskonia.
Coaching Virtus will always be Luca Banchi, who took the reins of the Bianconeri team in September 2023, replacing Sergio Scariolo. Banchi, in addition to coaching the Black Vu’s, will also continue his adventure as technical commissioner of Latvia.
