WTA 500 Monterrey: Elina Avanesyan-Elisabetta Cocciaretto 7-6 6-1

Elisabetta Cocciaretto's adventure at the WTA 500 in Monterrey ends in the first round. On the Mexican cement, in fact, the Italian player è surrendered in two sets with the score of 7-6 6-1 to the Armenian Elina Avanesyan, who interrupted the streak of two consecutive knockouts against the 2001-class player.

In the first set both players struggled to be effective with their serves. Cocciaretto twice found the break, but Avanesyan è skillfully stayed in touch and took the match to the tie-break, which was won by the Armenian 8-6.

The second partial, however, è without history, as the blue player dropped in intensity and in a short time ended up down two breaks. The tennis player from class 2002, after saving three break points in the sixth game, closes the accounts on 6-1, detaching the pass for the next round.

In the round of 16 Elina Avanesyan will face number 6 seed Elina Svitolina.
