Manuel Neuer leaves: è ended an'era

Through an Instagram post Manuel Neuer announced his farewell to the German national team: "On Wednesday I communicated my choice to Julian Nagelsmann in a confident and grateful conversation. After long and intense discussions with my family and friends, I have decided to end my career with the national team. Everyone who knows me knows that this decision was not è easy for me". 

"I feel very good physically, I would also have been very interested in the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. At the same time, I am convinced that now is the right time to take this step and focus fully on'FC Bayern Munich in the future".

The legendary goalkeeper made his debut with the German senior national team on June 2, 2009 (he was 23 years, 2 months and 6 days old) and since then has collected 124 official matches. The absolute star of the World Cup he won in 2014, Neuer è the fifth player with the most appearances in the history of the Teutonic national team after Lothar Matthaus, Miroslav Klose, Thomas Muller and Lukas Podolski.
