Coming up is the last Slam of 2024. from Aug. 26 to Sept. 8, the tennis world's attention will be focused on the US Open. On Thursday, at 6 p.m., the main draw for men’s and women’s singles will be held, with the participation of 14 Italians (9 men and 5 women).
In the men’s tournament, the No. 1 seed è world number one Jannik Sinner, who comes to Flushing Meadows after triumphing at the Cincinnati Masters 1000. Also among the 32 seed are Lorenzo Musetti (No. 18), Flavio Cobolli (No. 30) and Matteo Arnaldi (No. 31). In addition, Luciano Darderi, Matteo Berrettini, one whom few will want to cross over on the fast court, Lorenzo Sonego, the'stainless Fabio Fognini and Luca Nardi will try to make their mark on the draw.
In the women’s tournament, the No. 5 seed Jasmine Paolini will try to continue her resounding series of consecutive Slam finals, after Roland Garros and Wimbledon: in the American adventure she will be joined by Sara Errani, with whom she won the Olympic gold medal in doubles, as well as Elisabetta Cocciaretto, Lucia Bronzetti and Martina Trevisan.
