Folks new to Reggio Emilia

Jaylen Barford and Cassius Winston met with the media for the first time since they signed with Pallacanestro Reggiana. The two new Red and White players gave their first statements as part of the team.

“Returning to Italy è a great pleasure – said Jaylen Barford – here I started to take my first steps as a professional and I have always considered it a kind of second home. I had a few options, but the chance to come back and play again in Serie A and do it for a competitive club with the reputation of Pallacanestro Reggiana è was an easy choice. In these years I have learned to read games better, to understand the needs of the coach and the pace of the game. Especially in a league like the Italian one, where every possession counts. I am here to win as many games as possible and I can’t wait to take the court with my teammates”. 

In the same vein is Cassius Winston: “For me è the first experience in Italy, but it only took talks with the coach and management to understand that it would be the right choice. I think the past seasons, playing in the Euroleague and BCL, have enriched my wealth of experience and shown what it means to compete against teams and athletes of the highest European level. Trying to maintain this standard è what I set as my goal, both for myself and in helping my teammates on this path of growth”.
