The words of Leclerc and Sainz

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz did not hide their disappointment for a Friday in the Netherlands in which they did not go beyond the ninth and nineteenth times in the second free practice session.

The Monegasque's analysis è was blunt: "We do not have the pace of those in front of us. I think the situation is però better than it appears by looking at the time standings: there’è to work because we are not in a position to play for victory. We will doò everything to get the best in qualifying, but the current gaps seem too big to invent something special. If we can get within 2-3 tenths of those who è are in front, maybe we can fight for a good position on the grid, otherwise I foresee  a rather complicated weekend".

The Spaniard, held back by a gearbox problem, echoed him: "A day-1 in which I basically didn’t run. I did very few laps in FP1 becauseé the track did not give the right guarantees for the wind that there’was, in addition to the’wet asphalt. In the second session we hoped to complete what we’d set out to do, but this gearbox failure didn’t allow me to turn. At this point it’ll be a sprint weekend for me. I will have to start immediately tomorrow in the third session and go in search of feeling as quickly as possible. I hope to have performance“, concluded the Iberian.
