Football player breaks gold medal and makes desperate appeal to IOC
Bad mishap for Lynn Williams: the soccer player broke the gold medal she won at the Paris Olympics. In a video posted on Tik Tok she explained that, during the celebration of her final victory, she è slipped and è fell to the ground.
The precious item, as Lynn showed in the video, è broke at the part where the lanyard goes in and can no longer be worn around the neck. "I was holding it over my shoulder and during the dances it è slipped to the floor. Now it has a dent and it è broke the bar that held the ribbon, so it è definitely unique".
The soccer player contacted the International Olympic Committee to get it changed: "I think they should have made them better, more durable, and honestly I can’t be criticized for that. I don’t know if she can get it fixed. We are waiting to hear from the IOC. They said I could probably get one. I had to prove that it was actually damaged but they are looking into it. If they don’t change it, it won’t be a drama, in fact I think it’s a funny story".
