F1, Ferrari: Charles Leclerc drastic on race prospects
Charles Leclerc tough: "Podium needs a miracle"
Sixth at the end of qualifying for the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort, Charles Leclerc tries to look at the glass half full but at the same time admits that finishing in the top three in Sunday’s race would be an achievement beyond all expectations, given the distance from Lando Norris, Max Verstappen and George Russell.
"I can’t smile about today’s result,” the Monegasque told 'Sky Sport' -We are doing our best as a team to reduce the gap but the situation è this is it and we can only hope to get close to the leaders again as soon as possible. Whether we will succeed from Monza? Only time will è tell".
"Unfortunately,” Leclerc explained, “we have to admit that this track is not è the most suitable for Ferrari’s characteristics. This does not mean that tomorrow we will not try, on the contrary: we will give our best to win as many points as possible. For the podium però we would need a miracle".
After the success in his Monte Carlo, Charles Leclerc è did not manage to repeat himself and indeed he racked up a series of negative results (retired in Canada, fifth in Spain, eleventh in Austria after the seventh place in the Sprint Race, fourteenth in Silverstone) before coming close to the podium in Hungary, where he finished fourth, and getting on it in Belgium, thanks to the third final position.
