Inter on autopilot, everything easy with Lecce
L'Inter bent Lecce 2-0 at the San Siro in the match valid for the second day of the championship: the Nerazzurri won their first victory in Serie A thanks to goals by Darmian and Calhanoglu. Inzaghi’s team did not particularly shine, but the Salentini never managed to really trouble the hosts, now first in the standings on 4 points.
A low-intensity first half at the San Siro, the Italian champions needed only an initial flare-up to close out the halftime lead without any particular problems. Simone Inzaghi's team's 1-0 came on 5'thanks to Darmian, who scored from a header off a Dimarco cross spiked by Taremi, starting in place of Lautaro Martinez out with injury. Inter managed and came close to doubling the score with Barella, while up front Thuram and Taremi tried to find the right understanding, but without creating any particular danger.
Low rhythms also in the second half, the Nerazzurri maintain the initiative and concede very little to Lecce. At 70' came the doubling of the hosts on a penalty kick, awarded for a foul on Thuram: from the penalty spot Calhanoglu did not miss.
Inter calmly managed and took the first three points of the season, expending little energy.
