Jannik Sinner: Frances Tiafoe cuts short on the issue

At the media day ahead of the US Open, Frances Tiafoe, among other topics, dwelt on Frances Tiafoe was blunt about the affair involving Jannik Sinner, who è tested positive for Clostebol.

"Jannik è an incredible and fair player. The governing bodies made a decision and implemented it. He was allowed to play and he played. That è is all I have to say on the subject. I wish Sinner the best for the US Open, I just focus on what I can do" these are the words of Frances Tiafoe.

At the press conference, the world number one himself was also keen to shed some light on the situation: "Right away we clarified what substance it was and how it got into my body. This è was very important in the development of the process because è we clarified immediately, they understood and believed the explanation. I am glad that everything was finally clarified. Obviously because of all this the preparation for this tournament was not è the best, but the important thing è that it is now over".

The last U.S. Open in men’s tennis è was won by Novak Djokovic. In the final, the Serbian star defeated Daniil Medvedev with a score of 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-3.  With this victory, Djokovic captured his 24th Grand Slam title, further extending his record and reaffirming himself as one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

The last U.S. Open women’s tennis è was won by Coco Gauff. In the final, the U.S. defeated Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, making a spectacular comeback after losing the first set. Gauff’s victory represented her first Grand Slam title: the unfortunate performance at the Olympics will be one more spur to do well in Flushing Meadows.
