Between Torino and Atalanta è arm wrestling for Becao

On the pitch against each other on Sunday, Torino and Atalanta are also competing on another stage, that of the soccer market: both clubs are looking for a defender and have a common target, Brazilian Rodrigo Becao of Fenerbahce, known in Italy for his past at Udinese.

News regarding the future of the 28-year-old from Salvador de Bahia is chasing each other fast: Atalanta seemed until a few days ago to have a clear advantage, but negotiations with Fenerbahce underwent an abrupt halt when, as reported by 'Sky Sport', the player himself reportedly asked not to be sold on loan but only outright, while the orobici allegedly opted for the first solution.

Torino, looking for a last reinforcement in the defense before the close of the soccer market, has entered the picture: the granata would prefer Becao to other solutions, such as Cuesta of Genk or Van Den Bosch of Antwerp (names reported by 'La Stampa') because, unlike the latter, the Brazilian already boasts more than decent experience in Italy.

Arriving in 2019 from CSKA Moscow, Rodrigo Becao played for Udinese for four seasons, contributing to the Bianconeri cause with 130 total appearances and six goals. In the summer of 2023, the move to Fenerbahce, where forè Becao did not settle in the best way: hence the opening for a transfer, although suitors still have a few days for the decisive lunge.
