Jannik Sinner: Darren Cahill reveals background on Cincinnati triumph
During an interview given to the microphones of "ESPN", Jannik Sinner’s coach Darren Cahill, among other topics, è returned to talk about his client’s triumph at the Cincinnati Masters 1000, revealing an important backstory. In addition, the Australian coach talked about the complicated path to the US Open, complicit with the outbreak of the doping case involving the South Tyrolean.
"Honestly we had very low expectations in Cincinnati, because behind the scenes we knew what he was going through, but he è came out great by winning the tournament. He's a fantastic young man, a fighter and a great player, but to be a champion of that caliber you also have to have a lot of resilience and confidence. He does that when he takes the court and often, for these tennis players, the court becomes their safe place" began the Australian coach.
"We had a few days of training, including a good session on the Arthur Ashe of about two hours. In the last two days you can see a little more energy and enthusiasm. He's quite happy with his game, so I think Jannik will be able to do well at the Us Open" continued the coach of the South Tyrolean.
"I think it will take some time, but sooner or later people will understand that Sinner did not take any advantage. Four independent judges confirmed that there was no fault in his behavior, same for three expert scientists. We can argue that there could have been another outcome, but è that's what è and now Sinner has to move forward with his head held high, because he's done nothing wrong" added the former tennis player regarding the Clostebol case involving the world number one.
"Jannik has decided to take some space from whatè happened to him in the last few months, so Naldi and Ferrara are no longer part of the team. We have an osteopath here who has been working with us for quite some time, although he doesn’t do many weeks traveling the circuit. For the Us Open we will rely on him, and in the meantime we are already looking for a new athletic trainer. The decision to part ways with the two of them è was difficult for everyone, because they did an incredible job and are a big part of the reason Jannik è was able to achieve these results. It's been traumatic for all of us" commented Darren Cahill on the dismissal of Giacomo Naldi and Umberto Ferrara.
