Victor Osimhen: the agent retorts harshly to Napoli
In the Napoli household, the issue related to the future of Victor Osimhen continues to hold court. The Nigerian center forward, in fact, would have already expressed his will to leave the partenopei, but still no top club would have presented a congruous offer to convince the club to sell the player. In the last few hours, Al-Ahli reportedly put on the table an offer between 70 and 80 million euros, but the player reportedly sent the proposal back to sender, as he would not be willing to move to the Saudi Pro League, creating further tensions with Napoli. On the future of the former Lille player, his agent Roberto Calenda also made himself clear.
"Osimhen è not a package to be sent far away to make room for new prophets. Victor è was voted African footballer of the year, eighth runner-up in the Ballon d'Or and still has a lot to say in Europe. We need respect and balance" began the Nigerian's agent on his "X" profile.
"Victor è a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction. He made history in the Azzurri and when there were important offers (including this year) we always accepted the club" decisions added Roberto Calenda.
The player has reportedly already expressed his willingness to stay in Europe and is waiting for the right offer from a few top clubs, PSG above all. However, with five days to go before the end of the summer soccer market session, no top club would have submitted a proposal capable of satisfying Napoli’s demands. For Osimhen, therefore, only the Arab hypothesis could remain alive, where the market closes on Oct. 6.
In case of staying with the partenopei, however, the Nigerian center forward, in all likelihood, and complicit with Romelu Lukaku's signing, would spend the first part of the season off the roster waiting to be tried to sell in the winter market session.
