Holger Rune in crisis explains his troubles
Holger Rune in the press conference after the Us Open loss to Brandon Nakashima explained the physical problems that have been limiting him for some time now: "A knee injury è resurfaced at the worst possible time. It caused me a lot of problems with my serve and when I was stretching to reach my backhand, because it hurt when I bent my leg".
"I put 39% first, a ridiculously low percentage. From thereì playing becomes much more difficult. I usually rely a lot on my right knee when I serve. I always think I can win, but that makes it much moreù difficult".
Previously juxtaposed with Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune now seems to be clearly distanced from the two because of continued physical problems: "It"s not that I am isolating myself, but the truth"is that my body has been suffering more than usual lately. I wouldn’t say I’ve had too many injuries in my career, but in the last few months I’ve had more difficulties. Whether it is due to inadequate treatment, lack of strength, too much tennis or overtraining … we have to analyze the issue and then make the right decision".
