McLaren, Lando Norris cut short on rainbow ambitions
After the triumphant weekend in Zandvoort, Lando Norris, speaking at a press conference, was blunt about the rainbow fight with Max Verstappen, whose lead has è shrunk to just 70 lengths.
"I am fighting for the championship since the first race of the year. Not è that one suddenly decides to be or not to be fighting for the title. I have to do better. I have worked hard all year and I am still 70 points behind Max. I deal with one race at a time and continue to do what I am doing now, because there is no point in thinking about the future and everything else" began the McLaren driver.
"In Monza anyone could be in the lead. Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull, us. Leclerc and Sainz were quite fast in Holland and we didn’t expect them to be soì competitive. Maybe Max struggled a little bit more than we expected. In any case, there is no point in making assumptions ahead of Monza, we will get there, give it our all and then we will draw the conclusions" added Lando Norris.
