Sandro Tonali è returned to the field, having served his 10-month ban for betting, in Newcastle’s 4-3 penalty shootout win over Nottingham Forest in the English League Cup.
The 90' had ended 1-1. Tonali played 60 minutes at the City Ground before being substituted.
Joe Willock put the Magpies ahead after just 18 seconds and on 3' the Italian midfielder himself had the ball for 2-0, but Miguel turned away his shot.
Jota Silva equalized on 5' of the second half. Thanks to this success, Newcastle has è qualified for the third round.
