F1, a special version of Ayrton Senna’s McLaren at Monza

A marvel, completely made of bricks. Lego and Automobile Club Milano decided to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ayrton Senna’s passing in a spectacular way. At the Club House stand of Automobile Club Milano, in that of Monza, è was put on display the legendary McLaren MP4/4 of 1988 driven by the Brazilian phenomenon.
The car è was made by Riccardo Zangelmi, Italy’s only LEGO Certified Professional, using no less than 400,000 Lego bricks. It took as many as 700 hours of work and 120 hours of design to complete it. An immense amount of work that led to the creation of a true work of art in 1/1 scale.
The unique and special version of the McLaren MP4/4 weighs 610 kg and is a perfect reproduction (complete with sponsors of the era) of the legendary car that so many F1 fans have loved. The artist has also made, again using Lego bricks, the original helmet of Ayrton Senna. Of course, already available the set for the public: 693 bricks to recreate, at home, the magic of the McLaren MP4/4/Ayrton Senna pairing.
After the exciting weekend in Monza, the Lego single-seater will move to ACM headquarters at Corso Venezia 43 in Milan, where it will remain from Sept. 2 to Sept. 8 and will be the protagonist of a special exhibition with some mini-models of other historic F1 single-seaters such as the Tyrell P34.
