Marc Marquez curbs enthusiasm

At the conclusion of a brilliant day of pre-qualifying at the Motorland Aragon circuit, Marc Marquez (first at the end of timed practice thanks to a new track record) wants to avoid easy enthusiasms ahead of the continuation of the weekend that will culminate with the Sprint Race on Saturday and the Gp d'Aragon on Sunday.

"It's only Friday, let&#39s stay with our feet on the ground – commented the Catalan rider, convinced of the potential of his Ducati but at the same time cautious given the caliber of the adversaries – also becauseé I am sure that tomorrow the times will all be much closer. The’idea however è to hit the front row, we are very comfortable on the bike already’since the Austrian Grand Prix and on this circuit I feel good. Today’s conditions were also perfect for me, but I repeat: è only Friday’".

A few more problems were had by his teammate, his brother Alex, who nonetheless è managed with fifth place to get a spot already in Q2: "I saved the day with this Q2 – he said. We had a technical problem at the beginning of the session that didn’t allow me to try everything we had planned. Not ideal feelings on a newly resurfaced circuit where I would have needed more miles. So happy with this 5º time, but è clear that tomorrow we have a lot of work to do".

The Marquez brothers will remain in the same team until the end of the 2024 season, after whiché Marc will goà in the official Ducati team, replacing Enea Bastianini (next KTM Tech 3 rider) and alongside Pecco Bagnaia. Alex Marquez will remainà instead in the team founded by the late Fausto Gresini: together with him another Spanish rider, Fermin Aldeguer, coming from Moto2.
