Errani-Paolini don’t betray: good Finals debut, comeback win
Winning debut for Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. The Italian doubles team, gold medalists at the Paris Olympics, beat U.S. players Caroline Dolehide and Desirae Krawczyk in three sets on their debut in the last tournament of 2024.
The two Italians prevailed with scores of 1-6, 6-1, 10-4. After a bad first set lost 6-1, ours found themselves and won the second with the same result, turning around as attitude and way of being on the court. At the super tie-break è came the 10-4 that closed the match.
Jasmine Paolini will be back on court on Monday for the challenging match against world number one Aryna Sabalenka for the singles tournament.The Azzurra won her first match against Kazakhstan’s Rybakina.
In doubles the date is set for Tuesday: the two Olympians will face the pair formed by Canada's Dabrowski and New Zealand's Routliffe.
