Serie A: Cagliari-Milan 3-3

Recovering from Tuesday’s resounding performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League, AC Milan returned to Earth and stumbled at the presence of a never tame Cagliari, capable of equalizing in the final a match that seemed lost more for its own demerits than for the merits of others. For Milan è a rather heavy half-step, especially in the standings, while Cagliari won an important point and ended a series of three defeats in a row.

The match seemed to set up more than well right from the start for Davide Nicola’s team: after just 65 seconds, in fact, Nadir Zortea guessed the right corner on the development of a corner kick and beat Maignan (perhaps disturbed by Luvumbo in Offside, not for the referee staff and the VAR Room) for the 1-0 goal. The Rossoneri did not lose their composure, however, and on 15'they restored parity: Reijnders guessed the assist, Leao went over Sherri with a lob and made it 1-1.

Ball possession è rossonero but Cagliari’s restarts are always dangerous: on 28' Piccoli goes in the net but the referee cancels for offside, on 39' Maignan to prevent Zortea from scoring the second goal as well, with a spectacular reflex on the redblù soccer player’s header. On the rebound, surprisingly, Milan struck: Fofana launched deep; Leao who skipped past Sherri and deposited in the net for the 2-1 Rossoneri.

In the recovery of the first half, the equalizer would arrive with a great diagonal shot by Zappa that overcame Maignan, but in the VAR Room the touch on the ball under goal by Viola, who was però in an irregular position, was verified. The regret for Cagliari è great because even without that touch the ball kicked by Zappa would have comfortably entered the goal. But the lateral will have&eagrave; opportunity to make up for it.

He's the one, in fact, who made it 2-2 on 53', exploiting in the best possible way a completely wrong pass from Fofana. The red-bl's regained confidence and aimed for the breakthrough, but Milan showed its most cynical and ruthless face at 69', when Abraham picked up the ball kicked by Pulisic and rebuffed by Sherri close to the goal line and sent it into the goal for the 3-2.

In the final forò è Zappa again took the applause and the title of man-of-the-match: with a resounding volley from inside the box, the class of 1999 made it a personal double and sent the local fans into raptures. Four minutes of recovery followed, but the result did not change anymore: Cagliari-Milan ended 3-3.
