Lecce: Luca Gotti exonerated, surprise name for possible successor
A tie is enough to blow up the bench.
Calciomercato Lecce: Luca Gotti è no longer the Giallorossi coach, as a result of the home draw against Empoli in Friday night's early fixture that did not allow the team to get out of the relegation zone. The Salento club is already looking for his successor, who could be Marco Giampaolo.
Tightened the announcement with which the club on its official website has parted ways with its now former coach: "U.S. Lecce announces that today it has relieved Mr. Luca Gotti from the position of coach of the first team. To coach Gotti thanks for the work done in recent months with professionalismà, commitment and dedication, wishing the best of luck".
Confirming Lecce's interest in Giampaolo è was the editorial staff of 'Sky Sport' on Saturday. The Abruzzese coach, former among others of Milan and Sampdoria, has not coached in Serie A since the end of the 2021/22 season when he led precisely the Blucerchiati to a not very easy salvation. Alternatively è it is possible that the Salentini will turn to Igor Tudor.
Gotti leaves Lecce third-last in the standings (but with one more game played than rivals Parma, Cagliari, Monza and Venice) and on 9 points. In 12 matches he has in fact collected three draws and just two victories (the last was on Oct. 29 against Verona), compared with as many as seven defeats in the league.
