Salernitana starts again with Stefano Colantuono

Stefano Colantuono returns to the Salernitana bench

For the fourth time in his long coaching experience Stefano Colantuono accepts the call from Salernitana. The 1962-born coach in fact takes the place of the exonerated Giovanni Martusciello, who in the first thirteen days of the championship collected as many points, with the last victory dated Oct. 6 (1-0 at home to Palermo).

"U.S. Salernitana 1919 announces that it has reached an agreement with Mr. Stefano Colantuono and entrusted him with the technical guidance of the first team – reads the note published by the granata club -. For coach Colantuono this is the fourth experience on the granata bench after those of the seasons 2017/18 and 2018/19, then 2021/22 and finally 2023/24 for a total of 66 benches".

Colantuono has already worked with Salernitana’s current sporting director Gianluca Petrachi during another Granata experience, at Torino, in the second part of the 2009/2010 season, a year in which the Piedmontese came close to promotion to Serie A by losing the playoff final to Brescia.

Colantuono, who has collected 241 total benches in Serie B and boasts three promotions, two with Atalanta and one with Perugia, will be officially presented Tuesday at 12 p.m. in the press room at the Arechi stadium in Salerno. At the press conference along with him è d.s. Petrachi is also expected.
