ATP Finals: Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori postponed to final day

After an excellent debut against Bopanna/Ebden, Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori did not repeat on the second day of the Bob Bryan Group of the ATP Finals. The Italian pair, in fact, è surrendered in two sets to the German duo formed by Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz, who è imposed themselves with the final score of 7-5 6-4 after almost an hour and a half of play.

Bolelli/Vavassori got off to a strong start, holding the first three service turnovers to nil and coming close on more than one occasion to taking away Krawietz/Puetz’s serve. After nullifying two set points in the 10th game, the Azzurri però surrendered serve in the 12th game which meant first set in favor of the Germans (5-7).

In the second partial, no jitters until the eighth game in which Bolelli and Vavassori did well to cancel a dangerous break ball to Krawietz/Puetz. Down 4-5, however, the blue duo lost serve and the match, surrendering 4-6.

Thanks to this success, Krawietz/Puetz qualify for the semifinals, while for Bolleli/Vavassori, Friday’s match against Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic will be decisive.
