Claudio Ranieri will be Roma’s new coach

Claudio Ranieri will return to the Roma bench. According to reports from Sky Sport, in fact, the Roman coach reached an agreement with the Friedkins this afternoon in London and will be the third coach of the Giallorossi club this season, after Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Juric.

Ranieri è expected at Fiumicino already in the evening and on Thursday he will direct the first training session with players not called up by their respective national teams in Trigoria. All that is missing is the announcement from the Capitoline club to make official the return of Sir Claudio, who will sign a contract until June 2025.

Ranieri returns to Roma for the third time in his career. His first experience in the Giallorossi dates back to 2009 when he came close to winning the Scudetto, later won by Inter, while the second adventure è more recent (2019), when he took over from the exonerated Eusebio Di Francesco.

After his farewell to Cagliari last season, Ranieri had announced his retirement as club coach but the Giallorossiè call was too strong. To the Roman technician the arduous task of turning around the fortunes of a season that started very badly for Roma, twelfth in Serie A with 13 points in twelve games and twentieth in the Europa League with only five points collected in four matches.
