A double speed; destined to create more than one controversy.

Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari will not join forces as early as the Pirelli tests scheduled for the first Tuesday after the conclusion of the 2024 Formula 1 championship. On the contrary, forò, Carlos Sainz will already be ableà to get behind the wheel of his future team: the Williams. Which in fact has already announced its presence. A diversityà of treatment that could generate more than one controversy.

Later in the day on Friday, it was Williams that broke the delay, confirming on social media the presence on the Yas Marina track of the driver now in Ferrari already on December 10. "Carlos Sainz will drive for the team at the post-season tests in Abu Dhabi, in preparation for the 2025 championship", the post reads.

Instead, the position of Lewis Hamilton remains stuck, at least for the time being. The British star, who in 2025 will take in Ferrari the place left vacant by Carlos Sainz himself, during the Abu Dhabi test days will be called upon to honor some remaining promotional commitments with Mercedes. It is therefore possible that he will take to the track with the Rossa only in 2025, at the first tests scheduled in Bahrain for the end of February.

Williams and Carlos Sainz do not seem to have done anything abnormal, however, as Esteban Ocon will take to the track on December 10 for Haas and Nico Hulkenberg will do so for the new Audi-owned Sauber. In fact è it is Hamilton’s situation that is different from the others, and that Ferrari in the case will have to decide whether to deal directly with Mercedes.
