The big goodbye might not even have materialized.

Calciomercato Napoli: Piotr Zielinski è today at Inter Milan, where he è carved out an important role in Simone Inzaghi’s rotations. The transfer è took place on a zero-parameter basis, after as many as eight seasons in the Azzurri and the expiration of his contract with Aurelio De Laurentiis’ club. And the Polish midfielder now reveals that a further renewal would be possible.

"I like Italy, and when I arrived in Naples I immediately got on well,” Zielinski told 'Kanal Sportowy' who interviewed him during his training camp with Poland.

It would have been difficult for me to transfer to England, because I am fine in Serie A. My priority was to continue my career in this league".

And for Zielinski a further confirmation in Azzurri would have been, in his words, anything but unwelcome: "Napoli è a great club. So I would have been happy to extend my contract, even if I am now at Inter. But on me there's been interest from other clubs, like Juventus. And, outside Italy, Liverpool, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and especially Barcelona, which has made specific requests".

Meanwhile, having left Napoli, Zielinski is getting the hang of his new adventure at Inter: "My form is improving, and I am gaining more opportunities" than in the past. I try to take advantage of it, also becauseé we have many quality midfielders and we can rotate. In the choices forò I am also there, and I am happy and proud".
