Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin hide in Barcelona’s first free practice

Interlocutory first free practice for the MotoGP at the Barcelona Grand Prix, which decides the 2024 World Championship. The fastest è was Takaaki Nakagami on the Honda LCR Idemitsu.

The Japanese lapped in 1’40”951, an impressive 411 thousandths ahead of Pedro Acosta on the KTM Red Bull GASGAS Tech3. Third place at 414 thousandths for Alex Marquez on the Ducati of Team Gresini, the first of the Borgo Panigale bikes.

Fourth è Brad Binder on the KTM Red Bull Factory Racing, the South African è followed by the duelists for the rainbow title, Jorge Martin, fifth at 470 thousandths, and Pecco Bagnaia, seventh at 582. In between them Enea Bastianini, Bagnaia’s teammate, sixth.

Tenth was Marc Marquez on the other Ducati Gresini, also preceded by Maverick Vinales, eighth on the first Aprilia, and Jack Miller, Binder’s teammate. Eleventh was Fabio Quartararo on the Yamaha. At 3 p.m. pre-qualifying.
