Luciano Spalletti and the comparison with Jannik Sinner, fans unleashed

On Sunday evening Italy will take the field to take on France on the final day of the Nations League group stage: "We have to be a team that shows a lot of quality without talking too much and going to play good games. To play well you have to have a lot of players who can interpret, then by now it works this way here, you have to be able to sense these spaces that are created" said Luciano Spalletti.

The ctè was then asked if there is a player in the squad who could be the Jannik Sinner of the national team: "È good to never make comparisons, a footballer who goes beyond this normalcy" of dribbling…Daniel Maldini gives me the impression of having the easy shot, the substance of being able to create something easy and exclusive". Spalletti’s words sparked a great debate on social media: there are those who agree with the coach and those who believe that the national team lacks a star player like Sinner.

"The Italian è a people of pioneers, in all parts where we go we find this embrace of Italians who care about the fate of the national team shirt,  this must make us even more responsible and strong. France will find it easy to try to win the game, we don’t have to make reflections. I am sure we will go and play the game we have to play precisely to dedicate it to all those people who love us" continued Spalletti.

Sunday’s will be the coach’s match number 20 on the Azzurri bench: "I don’t know what è my balance, I think one match was wrong, the one with Switzerland in the European Championships. It is a specific match, the others well or badly were matches like many, then we never forget the opponents in front of us. We faced very strong teams".
