ATP Finals, Jannik Sinner’s joy: “Happy and proud to be Italian”

Two Slams, three Masters1000s and the ATP Finals. È it has been a memorable season for Jannik Sinner, who has no time to catch his breath yet and must immediately set off again in the direction of Malaga, where he will try to defend the Davis Cup he won last year along with Musetti, Berrettini, Bolelli and Vavassori.

First, however, just enjoy yet another success: “I am very proud to be Italian and to be part of certain successes. We Azzurri are a beautiful group, with many players in the top 100”, Jannik explains. “Entering the field è always a special moment, there's tension, there are doubts. È normal to have them, if you do not have them it means you do not feel the game”.

One of the aspects that most helped the world No. 1 this week (not that there was any need, actually) è was undoubtedly the audience. “It gave me so much, especially when things were not going well”, Sinner says again in the conference.

Asked about the Clostebol case, then, the No. 1 admits: “I always wonder what I could have done better, but honestly there was no other way. I took my team and we told each other to try to do the best we could. Itè s not true that I did it all: there were days where I was not great, nights when I didn”t sleep well”, Sinner admits.

“When I put on my cap, però I donò t think about what’è off the field, you also need a stable team around. I was fortunate to have Simone and Darren, working every round like there was no tomorrow”. After Davis, it will finally be vacation time for Sinner, before returning full force in 2025 directly to the’Australian Open.
